PARK NOTES
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO OUR PARK COMMUNITY AND NEIGHBORS. This should be an exciting year for our park.
Winter Meeting: Please join us for our annual Winter Park Meeting on January 28 at 7 pm at Triumphant Love Lutheran Church on Great Hills Trail. As usual, all are invited. We will discuss everything about the Park and will answer questions and welcome suggestions.
Playscape: The parks department also known as PARD, was in the process of ordering our new equipment at the end of December. It is difficult to say just when the new playscape will actually be ready for use ( we hope soon) – we will keep you posted. Thank You again to all of those who donated to this project. Our $25,000 is being used towards purchase of some exciting new equipment to replace the present equipement which is 22 years old this year.
Wildflower Area at Floral Park: You will be happy to know that this area will soon have a sign or possibly two signs declaring the area a wildflower area. The signs will installed by the mowers! Seems like this should give some confidence that the area will not be mowed too early. This area is filled with noxious weeds as well as wildflowers. Weeds will dominate the area unless some attempt is made to control them. When the weed plants are identifiable, I hope those of you passionate about wildflowers in this area will help us to hand pull weeds such as Malta Starthistle.
