Neighbors/Volunteers,On November 3 we are having our FALL PARK WORKDAY which we have had for many years. It is our hope that neighbors and especially park users will join us to do some needed maintenance and park improvements that day..We are not doing the Austin Parks Foundation’s Its My Park Day and are not listed in the the information they are sending out. If you have ever signed up for a IMPD, you are in the APF database which is why you get all their postings..The upside to doing a traditional Fall Workday is that we will primarily have neighborhood volunteers and will be promoting community. Hopefully you will get to know some of your neighbors. It will be easier to match projects to the size . You will not have to preregister. The downside is you will not get a free t-shirt. Don’t worry, if it is the t-shirts that you love. We will do an IMPD with APF in the Spring.One project for the coming Fall Workday will be planting wildflower seeds in the entire entrance area at Floral Park. We have received seed from PARD and will welcome any other seed you may have but will not be using at your own homes. We will also be getting at least one official ” Wildflower Area ” sign from PARD for this area and the area will not be mowed until the Wildflower Center gives the word.PARD = PARKS AND RECREATION DEPT (THE CITY)APF = AUSTIN PARKS FOUNDATION ( private non-profit promoting parks)
